No relaxations in containment zones: Collector

Ongole: The Prakasam district collector Dr. Pola Bhaskara announced that there will be no relaxations in the containment zones in the district during the lockdown period. He said that the relaxations for the remaining places would be intimated in a two days time, after assessing the ground-level situation.

The collector ordered the officials to implement the orders issued by the state government, through the GO No 274 and advised them to initiate action on the violators. He ordered all panchayats and municipalities to impose a fine of Rs 50 to people coming outside, Rs 100 to people not maintaining social distance at shops, Rs 500 to the shop owners for not maintaining social distance by the customers. He ordered them to seize the shop if the owner violates the rules for two times.

Bhaskara announced that the Ongole town, in which Coronavirus positive cases were registered, continue to be in the containment zone. He ordered the police officials to act tough if shops other than selling essential commodities are opened in Ongole. He ordered the RTC officials to not allow any movement of buses from Ongole depot, as it would make the public gather in a group at the bus stand.

The collector advised the officials to work on humanitarian grounds for the welfare of the public. He asked them to be alert as the people are coming into the district from other states and districts. He asked them to give notices to banks to see the customers maintain social distance, and book criminal cases on industries running without valid permissions. He ordered them to see the autos and tractors not transport the public beyond their permitted limits and organize awareness programs to their drivers.

The district SP Siddharth Kaushal, JC1 J Venkata Murali, JC2 TS Chetan, JC2 K Narendra Prasad, DRO V Venkata Subbaiah, and other officials also participated in the meeting.
