Officials deputed for flood relief duties: Collector

Kakinada: In view of rising level of Godavari and subsequent submerging of villages in Devipatnam mandal in East Godavari agency, District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy deputed nine district officers for relief duties to Rampachodavaram on Sunday.

These officers will attend to relief and rehabilitation to flood affected areas. The district offices are district medical and health officer, SE, Rural Water Supply, SE, APEPDCL, Port officer, Kakinada port, District Supply Officer, DM, Civil Supplies, Deputy Transport Commissioner, District Panchayat Officer and District Fire Officer.

These officers attend for relief works at Rampachodavaram immediately and stay there till normalcy returns. As per the directive of the district Collector, essential commodities were rushed to East Godavari Agency area.

The civil supplies department transported 4.5 MT each of onions and potatoes to Rampachodavaram from Rajamahendravaram by trucks on Sunday. These supplies are for the needs of relief camps arranged for flood affected in Devipatnam mandal in East Godavari.
