Ongole: Ambedkar hailed on Constitution Day
Ongole: Everyone should respect and follow the various sections in the constitution, announced District Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara. He paid rich tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar by garlanding his statue at the Trunk Road on the eve of 70th Constitution Day on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media, the Collector said that the country has the largest constitution that provides opportunities to work in social, political and economic fields, and protects freedom and equality. He said that the Ambedkar's team has put in lot of efforts in writing the Constitution.
In the Constitution Day celebrations held at the district police office, the AR DSP A Raghavendra Rao administered the pledge to the ministerial staff and other police officers. He said that the government has approved the draft constitution written by the Dr BR Ambedkar on November 26, 1949, and brought into force from January 26, 1950, by announcing the country as a republic nation.
The public in the country should respect and honour the largest written constitution in the world, Constitution of India, and live in harmony said the district judge PV Jyothirmayi, She asked the court staff to follow the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi that not only the aims should be great, but the ways to achieve them also should be great.
The principal senior civil judge and in-charge secretary of the DLSA have participated in a program held in PVR Girls High School. She said the children that everyone has the freedom of speech but it has certain limitations as per the constitution.
A special program to celebrate the Constitution Day was held in the Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam University and Acharya Nagarjuna University PG Campus in Ongole and was presided over by the NSS program officer Dr Mande Harsha Preetham Dev.
The AKTPU OSD Dr KVN Raju said that Ambedkar played a great and a crucial role in India becoming a sovereign democratic republic country. The YSRCP official spokesperson Kakumanu Rajasekhar praised the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for keeping the spirit of Dr BR Ambedkar and the constitution in his rule.
