Ongole : DMCC Ongole Club wins `1 lakh prize in cricket tourney

Ongole : The DMCC Ongole Cricket Club won the Chittithoti Jayakumar Memorial Tournament held in the CSR Sarma College and won the Rs 1 lakh cash prize. The tournament which was held in a knockout model with 16 teams on January 3, conducted finals between DMCC Ongole and Siri Hospitals Ongole teams on Monday.

Dr Jeevan Kumar announced on behalf of the organisers that Siri Hospitals team won the toss and chose to bowl first. The DMCC Ongole team scored 132 runs for 9 wickets in the 20 overs, but the Siri Hospitals team all out in 15 overs for just 80 runs. The organisers announced Yashwanth and Randeep as the man of the match in the finals.

The runners-up team received a cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with the trophy. The former Ranji cricketer M Hari Babu participated in the presentation ceremony along with the Dr Namineni Kiran Kumar, Dr Jeevan Chittithoti, PM Narasimha Rao, Ch Pratap Kumar, Thatha Sudheer, CI Murali Krishna, and others and presented the Player of the Series award to T Vamsi Krishna, Best Batsman to Sandy Goud, Best Bowler to Harish Reddy, Best Keeper to PV Pavan Kumar, and Best fielder to Randeep.
