In an interesting development, whatsApp status has helped the Police to nab a thief who had stolen the valuable things in a flat of an apartment in Tadepalli of Guntur. Going into details, two months ago a woman who allegedly stole money and ornaments from a flat was caught by the police on Saturday after her photo surfaced in whatsApp status with the stolen ornaments.

The Town CI Subramaniam who investigated the case has explained the details. According to the CI, Kathi Amod is staying in a flat in the Prime Galaxy apartment in Dolas Nagar of Tadepalli urban area. A massive burglary took place in his flat on November 29 this year where four bangles, a necklace, two earrings, one baby chain and a few other items were stolen.

Tadepalli Town CI Subramaniam registered a case and started investigation as per the complaint of Amod, but could not trace out the culprit. However, on the 24th of this month, wife of Amod found that the accused Sunita wearing stolen sari and the jewelery posted on the WhatsApp status and informed her husband.

He immediately informed the police and Sunita was taken into custody near the new bus stand in Mangalagiri. She used to work as a maid in an apartment. The CI explained that the manager of the apartment had given the keys to cleanse the vacant flats at that time, in this backdrop, she had also taken the duplicate keys of Amod's flat along with them and resorted to the theft. He said she smashed the cupboard inside and took the gold and walked away.
