Police hold moot court for JIOs in Ongole

Ongole: The Prakasam district police have organized a moot court to provide awareness and experience in the court atmosphere to the junior investigation officers in the Ongole division as part of their ongoing training, on Tuesday.

The Prakasam the district police are training a number of head constables, assistant sub-inspectors and ranker sub-inspectors as junior investigation officers. The JIOs are taking complaints, attending crime scenes and assisting investigations by adding value to the case dairies with their observations.

To improve the skills, build confidence and eliminate the fear of attending courts and face the examination by the lawyers, the Prakasam police organized the moot court at the Police Kalyanamandapam.

In the program, the JIOs is practically explained, how they would be acting in the court, how they would present the evidence of their investigation cases and answer the questions of defence lawyers during the trials without any fear and with confidence. The JIOs were also explained about the examination process and chief examination by the public prosecutor during the case enquiry in the court.

District SP Siddharth Kaushal announced that the moot court process will be continued in all subdivisions so that all JIOs will have experience and awareness of the court procedure.

The Ongole SDPO KVVSV Prasad, traffic DSP K Venugopal, SB II CI N Srikanth Babu, CIs Nagamalleswara Rao, K Lakshman, Subbarao, Bhima Naik, Rajesh, V Sriram, SIs and JIOs participated in the program.
