Poll staff queue up to cast postal ballot

Narsapuram: A large number of government employees who are assigned with poll duties queued up to cast their postal ballots at YNM College here on Friday.

The polling began at 9 am and continued till 5 pm. Four compartments were arranged for male and female voters. Large boxes were set up for helping the staff to exercise their franchise for parliamentary and assembly constituencies separately.

RDO Salim Khan said that they had arranged the facilitation centre as per the directives of the District Election Officer and Collector Praveen Kumar. Tight security arrangements were made under supervision of DSP K Nageswara Rao. All facilities were provided for the staff to exercise their franchise in a peaceful manner, he said.

Those employees on poll duty who cannot avail their postal vote on Friday can avail it on April 10, he added. They will be arranging a facilitation centre on polling equipment distribution day, he added.
