PVGD Prasada Reddy assumes additional charge of Andhra University V-C
Visakhapatnam: Professor of Computer Science Engineering Department PVGD Prasada Reddy has taken charge as Vice-Chancellor (additional in-charge) of Andhra University on Friday.
He received the orders to this effect a couple of days before from the Department of Higher Education. A man of simplicity, Prasada Reddy arrived driving his car to the university and offered flowers to the foundation stone laid for the building as a symbol of respect and paid tributes to the portraits of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, among others.
He took charge at 1:20 pm. Later AU Rector M Prasada Rao, Registrar T Byragi Reddy, Principals and the staff congratulated him, handing over bouquets to him. Speaking on the occasion, he ensured support to develop the university, contributing unstinting efforts to make the institution into number one in the country. He said that steps would be taken to improve the strength of the university as well.
