Rains lash East Godavari for third day
Rajamahendravaram: Incessant rain continued to lash the across the district for third consecutive day affecting the commuters and pedestrians. In many areas, the rain affected the paddy fields where saplings transplantation was just completed, particularly in Konaseema area.
Meanwhile, the paddy fields in I Polavaram, Mummidivaram and Katrenikona mandals were submerged under rainwater. Because of the incessant rain, the tribals in the Agency area were facing a lot of problems. In many areas, the roads were completely damaged as rainwater overflowing on the roads.
As a result, the RTC was running a few buses towards Bhadrachalam and diverted some buses through Kukkunur. The average rainfall recorded in the district on Sunday is 30 mm and 19.6 mm rainfall was recorded in Rajamahendravaram.
