Reading increases knowledge: Govt Advisor
Guntur: Government advisor for public policy K Ramachandra Murthy said that regular reading of books and newspapers will increase knowledge of people. Inaugurating the 21st Book Festival set up on AL B Ed College premises here on Friday, Murthy urged the readers to read books relating to social, economics and politics available in the book festival.
He also appreciated the organisers for conducting the book festival in the city. Emesco Publications proprietor D Vijaya Kumar expressed concern over the declining reading habit among the present generation due to influence of internet.
Sahitya Academy Award recipient Dr Papineni Siva Sankar stressed the significance of book reading in the life. Visalandra Vignana Samithi Chairman Muppalla Nageswara Rao, Arasam state secretary Valluri Siva Prasad were present.
