Rectification of land records begins in Srikakulam
Srikakulam: In the wake of number of complaints regarding Adangal/Pahani, 1B-ROR and Pattadar Passbook pouring in, the district administration planned to update land records. As part of it, the officials decided to rectify mistakes in land records. For this purpose, one
village in one mandal was selected as part of pilot project. In the villages, all lands will be surveyed to rectify mistakes. For all the 10 assembly segments across the district, special officers were appointed for the purpose for each segment.
Farmers and landowners must submit applications to concerned mandal revenue staff by quoting the mistake and required relief. After verification of records, the revenue officials will rectify the mistakes in land records.
Usually farmers are facing trouble to get crop loans from bankers due to mistakes in revenue records. For rectification, the farmers need to pay much time and sometimes they have to give bribe amount also. To avoid such kind of irregularities, the administration initiated the rectification process.
Farmers and landowners who need correction in records have to apply from September 1-25 and revenue officials fixed date, week and time for village level meetings and at that time the applicants need to attend and explain their problems. After verification, the staff will address the mistakes. "We are planning to complete the process as early as possible to facilitate farmers to get bank loans easily," said Joint Collector K Srinivasulu.
