SFI checks infrastructure in government schools in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: As per the call given by the Students Federation of India (SFI) and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), leaders of the organisations made a surprise visit to government schools across the state. They visited Karnati Ramamohan Rao School on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, SFI district vice-president O Yesu Babu alleged that even after four months of the new government had taken charge, uniform and books to the students studying in government schools were not distributed.

He recalled that the government had made promises before election that it would provide amenities on par with corporate and private schools. However, not even a single uniform was given.

Furthermore, he said that the government has not initiated to fill the vacant teacher posts in the government schools. He said that the students were facing problems due to shortage of classrooms and infrastructure.

The government should take up development of schools by providing fans, lights and store kits failing which they would protest against the government in a big way, said Yesubabu. DYFI district secretary N Nageswara Rao, A Ram Babu and others were present.
