SFI condemns arrest of JNU students in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: The leaders of Students Federation of India (SFI) here on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration and strongly condemned the illegal arrests and laticharge on the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi on Monday.
Speaking to the media persons, SFI district secretary M Someshwara Rao said that the students of JNU were holding a peaceful protest demanding roll back of the hostel and university fee which was increased.
Thousands of students took out a Chalo Parliament rally and the police resorted to lathi-charge and cases were booked. He said that the SFI demands withdrawal of the cases unconditionally and release all the arrested students of JNU.
SFI district president N Koti, convener Suryalatha, vice-president O Yesubabu, Yousuf, Dinesh, Gopalakrishna and others were present.
