SFI and DYFI activists taking out a rally in Rajamahendravaram on Tuesday, protesting the new education policy of central government

Rajamahendravaram: Protesting against the BJP government's "anti-student and youth policies", Students Federation of India (SFI) and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) took out a protest rally here on Tuesday.

The rally commenced at Gokavaram bus station and concluded at Kambala tank passing through Devi Chowk, in which hundreds of students participated. They raised slogans and exhibited placards against BJP government. The students also raised slogans saying that everyone should oppose new education policy.

SFI and DYFI leaders B Pavan and B Rajulova said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was trying to hand over the education system to corporates and close the government schools and colleges.

The Union government abolished the University Grants Commission and reduced funds to the universities. Moreover, the government was also reducing the jobs in various Central government organizations, they alleged. SFI and DYFI leaders V Ram Babu, N Raju, Satish, Vinay, Teja Sekhar, Rajesh, Ashok,Nani, Akram and other participated.
