Shun ragging, students told by Judge Y Veerraju

Tirupati: The Third Additional Judge and Mandal Legal Services Authority Chairman Y Veerraju has called upon all the students to move ahead as friends without having any difference of juniors and seniors.

Addressing the students of Sri Padmavati Degree and PG College in Tirupati on Saturday on "Legal Awareness – Anti Ragging", he said women students should know of their rights and become active.

Students should be far away from eve-teasing and ragging in educational institutions as the law imposes stringent punishment on those who resort to such acts. He advised students to share all problems of women students with their parents and behave as friends with them.

Prof T Sita Kumari of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar, SPW College Principal Dr K Mahadevamma, Garuda Foundation President K Rammohan, Secretary G Chenchaiah and others took part.
