Visakhapatnam: A team of MPs from the state will meet Railway Minister on August 5 to make a representation for continuation of Waltair Division, according to YSR Congress Parliamentary Party leader V Vijayasai Reddy.

Speaking at the district review committee meeting here on Saturday, the MP said the team would try to convince the Railway Minister on the need to continue the Division. On the issue of alleged land scandal in the district, the MP said all those involved in land grabbing would be punished.

A special investigation team comprising IAS and IPS officers would be formed to inquire into the land issues and none would be spared in the process, he stated. District in-charge Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao said the State government was taking bold decisions ever since it has come to power.

He urged the party cadre and the officials to work in tandem with the Chief Minister's vision. When asked about doctors sent to different districts on deputation, the Minister said they will be sent back to the same hospitals from where they have come.

Addressing the meeting, Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao said several tenant farmers in his constituency were facing problems and the authorities concerned should explain the government schemes to them. Telugu Desam MLA PVGR Naidu too raised the similar issue. Admitting it, RDO Tej Bharat said an action plan being prepared to address the problem.

Anakapalle MP B Venkata Satyavati underlined the need for creating awareness about organic farming among farmers. BJP MLC P V N Madhav pointed out shortage of seeds and the government should act to ensure supply of enough quantity of them.

Reacting on it, Joint Director of Agriculture said the issue was solved and adequate stocks were ready for supply. VMRDA Chairman Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao, District Collector V Vinay Chand, MLAs of YSRCP and TDP and other officials were present.
