Speaker visits flood-hit areas, assures farmers of government support

Srikakulam: AP Legislative Assembly Speaker T Sitaram toured in Vamsadhara and Nagavali flood-affected areas in Amudalavalasa Assembly constituency on Sunday. Along with mandal-level officials, the Speaker inspected flood-hit areas at Peddasavalapuram, Sarubujjili, Purusottapuram and other places in the Assembly constituency.

He asked farmers about the crop loss and damage to paddy nurseries. He visited the inundated paddy fields in several villages. Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker assured the farmers of support from the State government.

He told them that seeds will be supplied free of cost for cultivation of crops again. Officials from the departments of Agriculture, Panchayat Raj and Revenue accompanied the Speaker.
