Srikakulam: APSPTD to establish driving schools across State
Srikakulam: AP State Public Transport Department (APSPTD) has decided to establish 25 driving schools across the State. One driving school would be set up in the headquarters of each Lok Sabha constituency.
In Vizianagaram region, driving schools would be established in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam Lok Sabha constituencies.
Newly-recruited drivers would be imparted training in driving heavy luggage vehicles and heavy passenger vehicles. With an aim to overcome scarcity of drivers, the APSPTD decided to establish these training schools across the State.
In these schools existing drivers of the APSPTD would also be provided with refreshment trainign. New candidates who have driving license for light motor vehicles are eligible to secure training in the school. Those interested in securing training need to pay Rs 20,000 as security deposit with the depot manager concerned, APSPTD Regional Manager (RM) A Appala Raju explained to The Hans India.
