The police have intensified the probe into Andhra Pradesh minister Perni Nani's murder case. The police mentioned in the notice that the former minister should give the details of the accused, if he was a construction worker. These notices were received under CRPC 91.

Earlier, on the day of Nani's mother memorial service held on Sunday, a man named Badugu Nageswara Rao went to the minister's house, pretended to fall on the minister's legs, pulled out the construction weapon and tried to attack the minister. Immediately alerted security personnel, YSRCP activists arrested the accused. Upon receiving the information, the police reached there and arrested the accused. He turned out to be the brother of TDP women leader Umadevi.

Police, on the other hand, found that the accused had took the hold of the situation at minister's house before the accused attacked the minister. The accused was alleged to have links with TDP. Responding to allegations that TDP leader and former minister Kollu Ravindra was behind the attack, he said they had nothing to do with the attack on the minister. He was incensed that unnecessary allegations were being made against them. Now giving notices to the former minister by the police is a matter of debate.
