TDP MLC's skip Council chairman Ahmad Shariff's hearing on defections
Amaravati: The defected MLCs including Pothula Sunitha from Prakasam, Ch Sivanagi Reddy from Kadapa did not attend the inquiry on Wednesday. As both of them defected from opposition TDP to ruling YSRCP during the voting on two bills related to AP Capital splitting and shifting, the TDP Whip Buddha Venkanna lodged a complaint with the AP Legislative Council Chairman Md Ahmed Shariff.
That complaint was taken for hearing on Wednesday and both defected leaders went absent. According to the sources, Sunitha informed the AP Council Secretary that she was suffering from some health problems and could not attend. On the other hand, Sivanagi Reddy was also informed with the Council that he could not attend on the said date and time and requested to give another schedule. On these two grounds, the hearing was postponed and dates will be announced.
Buddha Venkanna said that as both of them defected from TDP to YSRCP and voted to the ruling party in the Council, which was in the Legislative records, both these leaders will get disqualified. He opined that with that fear only, they did not attend.
