TTD to hand over Srinivasam complex to district officials

Tirupati: TTD executive officer Anil Kumar Singhal directed Joint Executive Officer P Basanth Kumar to take steps for handing over the massive pilgrim amenities complex (PAC) `Srinivasam' located near APSRTC Bus Station here to the district administration.

Following the District Collector's request to hand over the TTD pilgrim amenities complex having about 1000 well-furnished rooms for converting it as Covid-19 centre, the TTD EO at a high level meeting of TTD officials with District Collector Narayan Bharath Gupta held here on Monday, directed JEO for immediate handing over of Srinivasam to district administration.

The EO said, if needed, a decision will be taken during the next review meeting for the use of TTD run BIRRD Ortho Hospital also into a Covid-19 Centre

The EO said, the Madhavam Rest House located in Srinivasam complex which is already earmarked as a Quarantine Centre will be used for TTD employees and their kin. A team of concerned officials and staffs headed by a deputy executive officer (Dy EO) will be deployed to monitor the quarantine facilities for TTD employees and their family members, he added.

In the meeting, Singhal explained the elaborate measures being taken up by TTD management as a precautionary measures in Tirumala and also at Alipiri, the entry point to Tirumala, down the hills.

While explaining the measures being taken up by TTD, EO said the TTD without any compromise would continue Corona testing for all the devotees visiting Tirumala and added that daily random testing to a minimum of 100 employees discharging duties at various places in Tirumala is going on.

He also directed JEO to provide additional ventilators at the TTD central hospital for improving facilities to the employees.

Additional EO AV Dharma Reddy, CVSO Gopinaath Jetty, Dy Collector Srinivas, DMHO Dr Penchalaiah, TTD Health Officer Dr RR Reddy were also present in the high level meting. The district Covid cases is nearing 1500 while Tirupati registered 250 Covid cases.
