Vigilance and Enforcement has been tasked with calculating additional payments for the Kuppam sub Canal works of the Kuppam constituency represented by former CM Chandrababu Naidu. A select committee appointed by the government on August 13 to conduct an observation on the payment of an additional Rs 144.7 crore contrary to the Rs 430.26 crore works. Vigilance has been investigating this work for a while.

Rajendranath Reddy, the Director-General of Vigilance and Enforcement at the ground level, decided to inspect the main canal works. He is expected to check himself on Monday. This scrutiny has caused concern among the authorities.

Vigilance and Enforcement Deputy Engineer and three JEs have been examining the records of Kuppam's utility work for two days. They are closely examining documents at the SE office in Madanapalle. The Director-General of the department will prepare the reports in advance as the canal will be inspected on Monday.

Vigilance and Enforcement Director Rajendranath Reddy and Chief Engineer Gopal Reddy will conduct inspections on the pileups. The project authorities were alarmed as there was no prior information on what would be done in the areas of Palamaneru and Kuppam constituencies. It is possible to inspect elevators, canals and concrete structures. The committee would examine whether the tasks were done to the extent of the DPR.
