Vijayawada: NGOs stage dharna over pending demands

Vijayawada: AP NGO leaders and employees staged a dharna here on Tuesday, demanding that the state government solve their long pending problems with immediate effect. Hundreds of employees took part in the protest held at the Dharna Chowk.

Addressing the gathering, AP NGO district secretary Mohammad Iqbal demanded that the State government on behalf of the employees solve their long pending issues like implementing PRC dated July 1, 2018.

He also demanded that the government release the pending three instalments of DA, cancel CPS pension scheme and implement old pension scheme which would benefit about 1.82 lakh employees.

He urged the government to regularise contract employees and implement five day special casual leave to women employees in the state. AP NGO Chairman Vidyasagar and others were present on the occasion.
