Vijayawada: Rythu Bazaars shifted to spacious stadium
Vijayawada: The lock down continued for the second day on Tuesday in Vijayawada and the police maintained strict vigil to check the movement of people. Mostly people stayed indoors to check the spread of Coronavirus.
Both the State and the Central governments announced total lock down in the state and country and cancelled the trains and public transport. The district administration has taken very important decision to shift the Rytu bazaars to the open places. Swarajya Maidan Rythu bazaar was shifted to Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation stadium. Hundreds of people thronged the Rytu bazaar and purchased vegetables and green leafy vegetables on Tuesday. The Rythu bazaar was organised for only three hours from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. People had a good relief and purchased the vegetable comfortably. Otherwise, they could have confined in the congested Swarajya Maidan Rytu bazaar, which is not safe as thousands of people gathered in the limited space. Due to threat of spreading Coronavirus, the Government is suggesting for social distancing and asking people to avoid public gathering. In this crucial time, shifting of Rythu bazaar to open stadium is welcomed by many consumers. Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, the Revenue and the Marketing departments successfully maintained the activity.
