Vijayawada: District Collector A Mohammad Imtiaz said that the sports would bring fitness and confidence to the players.

He inaugurated the shuttle badminton competitions organised by the Professional Badminton Club at the Dandamudi Rajagopal Rao Indoor Stadium here on Sunday.

The District Collector said that people face several challenges every day and they should take up sports to overcome tensions in life. "Sports would make people lead disciplined life apart from healthy lifestyle," he added. Everyone should take up one or other sport or game even if it was simply walking or exercise, he added.

Later, the District Collector felicitated PV Sastri, Sai and Siva Ramakrishna who won the state level competitions.

Professional Badminton Club president U Maruti Srinivas, secretary Bujjibabu, Krishna District Badminton Association president Ramineni Ramamohan Rao, secretary Ankamma Chowdary and others were present.
