Vijayawada: Vet doctors take out rally to protest killing of Priyanka Reddy

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Animal Husbandry Department Director and staff staged a protest at the office at Labbipet here on Friday, demanding that the police take stern action against the killers of Hyderabad veterinary doctor Priyanka Reddy.

The staff took out a rally seeking the State government to punish the guilty sternly.

There is no safety for even women doctors, they lamented. They said that it was unfortunate that the cases involving rapes and murders were on the rise even in advanced cities.

They demanded the concerned department to take tough action on the culprits as per law which should be an eye opener to people who commit such brutal crimes. The staff lit candles and remained silent and paid tributes to Dr Priyanka Reddy. They appealed to all the people to support Priyanaka's family in their hour of sorrow.

Additional directors Dr Damodara Naidu, Dr Venkataramana, joint directors Dr Ratnakumari, Dr Padma, deputy directors Dr Sundara Reddy, Abraham Lincoln and other doctors Dr Sujani, Dr Sai Gopal, Dr Vasanta Rayulu and others were present on the occasion.
