Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation takes up Birth Control of Stray Dogs
Rajamahendravaram: Veterinary doctors administered anti-rabies vaccine to hundreds of pet dogs at the hospital in connection with World Zoonoses Day here on Friday.
Participating in the programme, Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai advised the people to bring their pet dogs and other animals for anti-rabies vaccine. The government was very much particular to eradicate rabies which is an infectious disease through dog.
MLC Adireddy Appa Rao underlined the need to take care about the health of animals which gives us joy.
Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar Gandhi said steps were taken to perform birth control surgeries to stray dogs and also to administer anti-rabies vaccine.
The doctors administered the vaccine to 550 dogs.
Animal Husbandry department deputy director Dr K Satyananrayana, hospital superintendent Dr TS Ramesh Chandra, Dr Yoganand, Dr Lokesh and other staff were present.
