Vizianagaram: Task force panel to monitor markets
Vizianagaram: The district administration has formed a task force committee comprising joint collector, police, revenue and civil supplies departments to regularise market activities. District Collector M Harjawaharlal on Monday informed that the task force committee would monitor and regularise the market activities and work on behalf of public and consumers.
No shop other than selling essential commodities would be permitted to open till the lifting of government orders, he said and added only gas, petrol, provisions, medical and groceries shops were permitted to open and no other shop is allowed to open.
If anybody violates the norms, they would face serious action, he warned.
On the otherside, he said the committee would monitor the price of certain commodities being sold there and added if any trader was find selling at high price than the market price or if anybody resorts black marketing, they would be punished as per law. Stating that the district so far not registered a single positive case, he said 108 persons, who reached their hometowns from abroad were advised to be stay indoors only.
Every constituency would have an isolation centre for suspected corona cases with 100 beds, he said the district headquarter has isolation ward with 200 beds. He appealed to people to cooperate with government and maintain discipline and take precautionary measures to prevent the virus.
