Vizianagaram: YSRCP activists ignore Covid guidelines

Cheepurupalli (Vizianagaram): Actually, government officials including people's representatives should take the responsibility to ensure that people follow Covid protocols like wearing masks and maintaining social distance.

They need to create awareness among people to follow the norms without fail to reduce the spread of coronavirus. But Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Botcha Satyanarayana organised a huge rally on Sunday at Cheepurupalli in which thousands of activists participated. Those who took part in the rally failed to follow theCovid guidelines.

Botcha Satyanarayana along with MP B Chandrasekhar, MLC P Suresh Babu participated in a Padayatra from Garividi to Cheepurupalli. Large number of party cadre and supporters participated in the rally. There were no cops to question the leaders for violating the Covid norms.

Those who participated in the Padayatra walked each touching the shoulder of the other. At the end of the rally, Botcha addressed a huge public meeting at Cheepurupalli and explained on the various welfare schemes launched by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the State.

Botcha pointed out that 1.4 lakh jobs were provided in village and ward secretariats and Raithu Bharosa and other welfare schemes were being implemented even while the State was facing a financial crisis.

He said, "Jagan treats the manifesto as a Bible, Khuran and Bhagavad Gita."
