Ward secretaries selection will be transparent: Collector

Chittoor: Selection of candidates for village and ward secretaries posts will be made in a transparent way without giving scope for any sort of controversy, assured District Collector Narayan Bharat Gupta. All the eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of merit and no corruption or nepotism will be allowed, he said.

Speaking to media persons at his chambers here on Friday , Gupta has called upon the candidates not to believe rumours in the selection of the candidates. "Stringent strategy will be applied to verify the credentials of the meritorious candidates at various levels.

Those candidates who have presented the certificates issued by non- recognied universities are subjected for rejection. Verification of certificates is in progress at three centres in Chittoor, " he added. Selection of the candidates will be made as per the stipulated guidelines pertaining to roaster, weightage, and reservation.

Help desk will be useful for the candidates to represent their grievances if any in this regard. Trainee Collector Prudhvi Raj, Joint Collector V R Chandramouli and others were present.
