We do not force students over English medium in schools: Education Minister Suresh
As the exchange of words between ruling and opposition parties are on roll over the issue of implementation of English as the medium of instruction in govt schools, the Minister of Education, said that the medium of English will be introduced in the public schools in the state to benefit poor and middle class students. Suresh, who opened the Ongole camp office on Sunday, said that children should not worry about English medium and that the process would be done in a step by step manner.
Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that Govt has laid a special focus on education. For that, 16 per cent of the government budget was allocated for education. The minister said that the program will be launched on the 14th of this month in Ongole. CM-Jagan would inspect the schools on infrastructure in all schools. The event will be attended by several YCP leaders and activists.
On the other hand, with the opposition uproar, the govt has stepped down from the decision and made some amendments and said that the English medium will be applicable to classes 1 to 6.
