There is no other medium that better expresses emotion as a movie does. There are range of emotions from happiness and sadness to misery and fun. There's horror and thriller too. Filmmakers often incorporate one or all of these emotions in their movies. The genres sometimes are varied. However, there is one formula in movies which always works and that's the mother Sentiment. Be it in any language, any reference to mother makes the audience sit up and take notice. Tomorrow being Mothers Day we thought why not share with you some Indian movies with mother sentiment.

Jogi in Kannada: Starring hattrick hero Shivarajkumar in the lead with theater artiste Arundati Nag ( wife of late Shankar Nag of Malgudi Days fame), the movie is sure to bring tears to your eyes in the climax. The movie was also remade in Telugu as Yogi with Prabhas in the lead role.

Velailla Pathadhari (VIP) in Tamil: Dhanush as a jobless youth battling unemployment issues while being ill treated back home by his own family members while his mother stands by him as a pillar of support, VIP was even dubbed into Telugu as Raghuvaran BTech and went on to become a blockbuster hit. Sujata plays dhanush's mother where she shines and the song Amma Amma is remembered to this day. The song became a chart buster when the movie released.

Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi: There are several mother Sentiment movies in Tollywood. However, Ravi Teja-Jaya Sudha combo as son-mother became a hit. This movie too had some unforgettable melodies. A movie every Tollywood fan must watch

Beta in Hindi: The famous Shashi Kapoor dialogue Mere paas maa hai in Deewar became an iconic hit in Bollywood. But here's a movie which explored the Mother Sentiment in an altogether different way. The blind love of a son towards his step mother took the emotion to a new peak altogether. Anil Kapoor and Aruna Irani combo with Madhuri Dixit playing the female lead, the performance is mindblowing. The movie was remade in several other languages.
