Drugs Case: Kannada Actress Sent To 14 Days Judicial Custody 

Sandalwood actress Shweta Kumari who was caught in drug peddling case in Mumbai's Versova has been sent to judicial custody for about 14 days by a Mumbai court.

Earlier, NCB officials who had conducted raid on a hotel at Mumbai's Meera road had arrested actress Shweta Kumari and a drug peddler by name Chand. About 400 grams of drugs were recovered from the scene of raid.

Shhweta, who has acted in a Kannada movie called 'Ring Master' was active in Kollywood and Tollywood industries too. But Chand who is supposed to be a drug peddler is still elusive.

The drugs probe got intensified across India following the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. During the inquest, the police chanced upon some critical information which led them to the existing lexus between drug mafia and the film industry. Several top actors have been questioned by the NCB in this regard with names like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Ragini Dwivedi in Karnataka in the list.
