Teja, Bellamkonda differ over 'Sita' release date?
Although director Teja along with producer Anil Sunkara was planning to release his film 'Sita' starring Bellamkonda Srinivas and Kajal Agarwal on March 29 initially, Bellamkonda Suresh, father of actor Bellamkonda Srinivas, reportedly objected to it and advised them to defer the release to May, 2019.
"Director Teja completed the shooting of `Sita' in time and was planning to release the film on March 29, but differences erupted between Bellamkonda Suresh and Teja over it.
Teja also did some shooting in March and finally decided to release on April 25 but Suresh still was dissatisfied," says a source, close to the unit.
Actually, Bellamkonda Suresh wanted to release the Telugu remake of Tamil film 'Ratshasan' starring Bellamkonda Srinivas (which is under production and nearing completion) to be released before 'Sita' but producer Anil Sunkara and Teja didn't agree to it.
"A film which is ready has to be given the first priority because more Rs 15 crore were invested in the film. A film which started later, had to wait. It can't overtake for any reason," the source adds.
When contacted director Teja wasn't willing to share more details about his tug-off war with Bellamkonda Suresh, "It is true that we had a few disccusions about release date, but now it has been resolved.
My film 'Sita will be hitting the screens on April 25. I don't know about the other film." he cuts shorts.
