Entrepreneurship fest held in VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology

Hyderabad: The Entrepreneurship Fest of VNRVJIET, Ecficio 3.0, was held at the city-based VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (VNRVJIET). Abhishek Chapalamadugu, Director of India Operations at Examity® and an alumnus of VNRVJIET, attended the inaugural event as the chief guest while Sri Charan Lakkaraju, CEO of stuMagz, attended as the Guest of Honour.

Speaking at the event, Abhishek Chapalamadugu said that passion, patience and partnerships are important for students to become entrepreneurs. Students may take up entrepreneurship as a career option right after their graduation or after a few years of employment, but that clarity and career vision are more important.

Sri Charan Lakkaraju said that VNRVJIET is one of the best colleges in the city and has appreciable facilities including an in-house incubator and an R&D centre and students must utilise such opportunities to become entrepreneurs. He pointed with examples that entrepreneurship does not require complicated ideas but only identifying opportunities particularly in unorganised sectors.

Dr. Chakravarthula Kiran, Faculty Coordinator for Ecficio 3.0, said that the Fest is designed by the students for the students three years ago and that Ecficio 3.0 hosts seven play-and-learn events, two panel discussions, three idea competitions and one workshop and witnessed a footfall of about 400 participants and added that the Institute has been conducting this unique Fest as student participants and coordinators learn entrepreneurial skills through Ecficio. He added that important topics such as "Why failure is common and frequent in startup arena?" and "Identifying the gaps between education and entrepreneurship" are discussed among experts during the Fest.

Durgaprasad Kode, Joint Secretary-Vignana Jyothi, said that students of the Institute solve real-world problems through creativity and design thinkingand are becoming entrepreneurs. He added that such Fests improve awareness towards innovations and creates a conducive culture for entrepreneurship.

Principal Dr. C.D. Naidu, Directors Dr. B. Chennakesava Rao and Dr. A. Subhananda Rao, President-Indian Innovators Association Dr. A.S. Rao also spoke at the event.

Various entrepreneurs, managers and CEOs of incubators including Bala Vikasa International Center, J Hub, and BITS Pilani Hyderabad TBI participated in the two-day Fest.
