Time Is The Best Gift You Can Give Your Mother This Mothers Day
May 10 is celebrated as Mother's day. With just a day away, you must be wondering how with so many restrictions imposed due to the lockdown, will you be able to make the day special for your mother.
Every year, come to Mothers Day and you would have a day full of activities planned to make her feel good. Why not, she brought you into this world and that's the least you could do to make her happy on the day. Now, the entire world has shut down. No entry to malls, theatres and you are not even allowed to step out. In such a scenario how do you intend to make the day special for your mom? Well, let me tell you this will be the best and most memorable mothers day for all the mothers in the world, provided you give the best gift to her--your time!
Yes. We have often seen heard parents cribbing about their kids not spending enough time with them. Now, I guess this year you could make a difference by giving enough time to your parents. I have made a list of activities you could do with your mother this Mothers Day. Basically, they need no planning whatsoever. All you need to give her is your time, she will be more than happy and cherish this for a long time.
Begin with breakfast: Have you heard mom made food? Yes, there are certain things that tastes better only when mom makes it. But there are a few recipes of yours that your mom likes too. So why not treat her to a feast?
Eat together: A family that eats together stays together. Although it's important for everyone to have at least one meal a day with the entire family, if that has not been very possible, this is your chance to make up for this. Sit together, have a hearty conversation and finish your breakfast. Talk about all the food memories you had as a child with your mom. She will feel good that you are still grateful.
Favourite pastime: Remember as kids your mom would find ways to keep you occupied? So pull out one of those that you think she would enjoy and engage in that.
Family albums: Could be your birthday album, your wedding album or your holiday pictures. Nothing like taking her down memory lane with those pictures. This is also a good time pass.
Antakshari: Who doesn't like music? Plan a karaoke session with your mom or play anthyakshari. Who knows she may sing songs that you loved as a child.
Virtual celebration: Stay away from your parents and unable to visit her because of the lockdown curbs? No problem. Make a video call and sing a song for her, have her witness you cook her favourite recipe.
Movies/Games: There are movies you watched together and enjoyed a lot. Games you played to make the best use of time. You could choose either of the activity. Even if you stay away, you could play a game against each other with virtual proximity.
