Coronavirus in Telangana as on 18 October Telangana reported 1,436 coronavirus positive cases on Saturday pushing the tally to 2,22,2111 while the death toll reached 1,271 with six new persons dying of the virus in the last 24 hours. However, the overall recoveries went up to 1,98,790 with the recovery of 2,154 persons in a single day. At present, there are 22,050 active cases in the state including 18,279 are in home/institutional isolation.

The first female officer of the Air Force, Dr Vijayalakshmi Ramanan, died at the age of 96
Wing Commander of the Indian Air Force, Dr Vijayalakshmi Ramanan (Retd) VSM has died on Sunday night. She was 96 years old. Vijayalakshmi was the first woman officer of the Air Force. She breathed last at her daughter's house at 8.50 pm. She was commissioned as an officer in the Air Force on August 2, 1955. She became the Wing Commander on 22 August 1972. On 28 February 1979, she retired.
