A farmer from Boguda Bhupathipur of Haveli Ghanpur mandal in Medak district reportedly wrote a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and committed suicide later. He was identified as K Ravi Kumar (45).

In the letter, he said that he failed to get remunerative price for the crop and his son also could not get a job although he has completed engineering. He also added that his father also could not get a pension although he crossed 60 years. He further appealed to the Chief Minister to announce a remunerative price for the crops.

A pall of gloom descended in the village with the death of Ravi Kumar.

The police reached the spot and launched an investigation. The body was sent for autopsy. A case has been registered.

Polling for six local body MLC seats ended on a peaceful note in five districts. A total 26 people contested in the election for six MLC seats -- two from Karimnagar, one each from Adilabad, Nalgonda, Medak and Khammam.

The polling began at 8 am and concluded at 4 pm abiding COVID-19 protocol. In Karimnagar, around 99.9 per cent of voter turnout has been recorded i.e. 1,320 votes were polled out of a total of 1,324 voters.

In Adilabad, the Chief Election Officer, Shashank Goel inspected the polling centre. Meanwhile, the police also imposed tight security at the polling centres and concluded the election peacefully.

The counting of votes will takes place on December 14.

In a shocking incident, a battery bike was caught fire and burnt completely in the blaze and the motorist narrowly escaped as he was alerted by locals who noticed the fire on the bike. The incident took place in the West Godavari district. Going into the details, a battery-powered battery bike traveling on the road caught fire in Guravaigudem, Jangareddygudem mandal in West Godavari district. Narayana Murthy, an RMP doctor from the village, was coming on his battery bike when suddenly there was smoke. Locals noticed the fire coming from the bike and alerted Narayana Murthy to stop the bike. Within no time, the fire started from the bike and was completely burnt. A few days ago, about 15 bikes caught fire due to a short circuit while charging the bike at a battery bike showroom in Gajuwaka in the Visakhapatnam district. The showroom owner said the accident caused property damage of about Rs 20 lakh.

The CID officials raided the house of Lakshminarayana, a retired IAS officer who worked as a personal secretary to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. AP CID police have expedited the investigation into the Skill Development scandal. As part of this, AP CID officers conducted searches at the house of retired IAS Lakshminarayana on Friday. Lakshminarayana previously served as the Director of the Skill Development Corporation. During his tenure, Lakshminarayana was accused of committing several offenses while training the youth. Traders in Bhupalpally stands in solidarity to Singareni workers and calls for bandh tomorrow following which all the business establishments in the town will be closed. The Singareni workers' strike against the centre's announcement of coal blocks auctioning has reached second day. With the halt of coal production, the Singareni collieries suffered a loss of Rs 110 crore in two days. The workers union demanded the centre to de-list the privatization of four blocks. Around 5,600 workers joined the strike deserting all the coal mines. The coal production was stopped in four coal mines and two open cast mines. The workers successfully completed the strike for two days of the 72-hour strike. The centre listed four blocks -- Koyagudem block-3 in Bhadradri, Sattupalli block-3 in Khammam, Kalyanakhani-6 and Sravanapalli blocks in Asifabad.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to state chief secretary Sameer Sharma. He said in the letter that Lance Naik Saiteja, a resident of Chittoor district, who was killed in a helicopter crash would be provided of ex-gratia of Rs. 1 crore compensation to the family. And also suggested that a government job be provided for one of his family members. Naidu lauded the services of Saiteja for reaching top level of serving as security for the chief of Defence Staff in just nine years. He opined that his hard work, perseverance and has made him reach that level of joining the personal security staff of CDS. The Andhra Pradesh government headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has issued several key guidelines in the wake of the Omicron variant outbreak. The government has once again ordered strict enforcement of guidelines issued by the Union Home Ministry and the World Health Organization. The government has issued orders of imposing a fine of Rs. 100 for not wearing a mask. Also, it said that if the unmasked persons are allowed in shops, commercial premises, and business premises, the owner will be charged Rs. 10000 fine. The government has directed the district collectors, SPs, and police commissioners to take steps to close down the businesses for 2 days if anyone violates government guidelines. On the other hand, the government has indicated that people can report violations in shops, commercial, and business establishments across the state through WhatsApp on 8010968295. It also directed the police to register cases under Section 188 of the Disaster Management and IPC Act if anyone deliberately violates the Rules.

The polling for local bodies MLC election is underway in a peaceful manner in five districts in the state. All the public representatives have cast their votes in their respective constituencies. Minister KT Rama Rao exercised his voting right at ZP office in Sircilla town.

In Karimnagar, the election is underway for two MLC seats and 10 candidates are in fray. A total of 1,324 voters will exercise their vote in Karimnagar.

In Mancherial ZP office, government whip Balka Suman, MLA Diwakar Rao cast their vote. MLA Bhupal Reddy and MLC Farooq Hussain cast his vote in Narayankhed in Sangareddy district. MLA Mahipal Reddy exercised their voting right in Patacheru and MLA Sanampudi Saidi Reddy cast his vote in Huzurnagar.
