Tensions have erupted in Tirupati over the concerns of contract workers working in the sanitation department in TTD. Workers in the FMS department have been worried for the past few days, demanding that they be merge with the corporation set up by TTD. The workers staged a dharna in front of the TTD administration building in Tirupati on Friday. They demanded that the time scale promise given by CM Jagan during the Padayatra be fulfilled. A scuffle ensued between the police and the workers during this sequence. Subsequently the protestor were arrested and rushed to the Police Parade Ground. The concern of TTD contract workers continues. They have been working for 15 years and demand to abolish the contract system. Protests have been going on for the last 14 days near the Tirupati TTD administration building. However, on Thursday, EO Jawahar Reddy called the workers for talks, which have been failed. The workers made sensational remarks after negotiations with EO and stated they have been threatened.
In a gruesome incident, a man beheaded his wife and walks into the police station with severed head to surrender before police here at Rajendranagar. The accused was identified as Parvez. According to the police, Parvez was married to Samreen 14 years ago and has three children. However, the accused began to suspect his wife's fidelity and quarreled with her very often. Later, the two got divorced. A year after getting divorce, Parvez asked Samreen to return to him and the two stayed together again. On Thursday night, he picked up the quarrel on the issue and slit her throat with a sharp weapon in a fit rage. He later beheaded her after confirming that she was dead and walked into the police station. The Rajendranagar police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Singareni workers continued the strike for the second day protesting against the auctioning of coal blocks. With all the unions according support to the strike, the workers boycotted their duties on the second day. Due to the strike, four lakh tonnes of coal production halted, creating a loss of Rs 40 crores. The JAC has called for three-day strike demanding the centre to withdraw their decision of auctioning of four coal blocks. The strike has been successful in the coal mines of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district with all the employees boycotting their duties.
A ghastly road accident took place in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh where a tractor carrying passengers for a wedding event overturned near Chamalapalli leaving twenty-two people seriously injured. The doctors said the condition of the six was critical. Upon receiving the information, the police immediately rushed to the spot and took relief measures. The injured were shifted to Gajapatinagar PHC and seriously injured were rushed to a hospital in Visakhapatnam, police said. The injured were identified as residents of Chintadavalasa village in Mentada mandal. The accident took place while returning in a tractor to attend a wedding in Rachakindam. Police said there were 35 people in the tractor at the time of the accident and asserted that a case has been registered and is being investigated, police said.
The people in Andhra Pradesh are already suffering from heavy rains and floods. Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh have not yet recovered from the rains. Flood calm in many places is still ongoing. The Meteorological Office has forecasted heavy rains in AP once again for the next three days from today due to the low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal. The low-pressure area formed from Sri Lanka to the west-central Bay of Bengal continues at an altitude of 0.9 km above sea level. It said that there was a possibility of rains in many parts of the two Telugu states with winds blowing towards Telangana from the east.Read more
Polling for six local body MLC election began under five districts of Telangana today. As many as 26 candidates are in race for each MLC seat in district in Khammmam, Medak, Nalgonda, Adilabad and two seats in Karimnagar. The election will be held from 8 am to 4 pm adhering to the COVID-19 norms. Meanwhile, the police tightened the security at the polling centres to avoid any untoward incidents. Vijayawada: The computer-based test (CBT) of Indian Railways Central Employment Notification will commence tentatively from February 23, 2022 in multiple phases, subject to the prevailing conditions and the government guidelines issued from time to time in view of handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to chief public relations officer Ch Rakesh. He said in a statement here on Thursday that the link of viewing exam city and date and downloading of travelling authority of SC/ST candidates will be made available on all RRB websites in due course 10 days prior to start of exam.Read more

Downloading of E-call letters will start four days prior to the CBT date mentioned in the link. In regard to 485,607 candidates whose applications were found rejected on the ground of invalid photograph/or signature, the modification link will be open from December 15 to 26 on all RRB websites for uploading of photograph/or signature afresh as a one-time opportunity, said a senior SCR officer.
