Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday wrote to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking directions to the Food Corporation of India (FCI) on paddy procurement. He asked the PM to direct the FCI on the complete procurement of balance five lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of rice produced in Yasangi (Rabi) this year. The CM in the letter also stated to increase target beyond 40 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) for paddy procurement during Kharif season to 90 per cent of production.Read more

A major fire broke out in flat of Green hills colony in Mallapur of Medchal district. The fire which is said to have occurred due to a short-circuit engulfed like wild fire after coming in contact with oil cans. A person, residing in the flat died of asphyxiation. The oil cans is suspected to have stored illegally in the apartment. The apartment residents alerted the fire fighters who rushed to the area and launched efforts to bring the fire under control. Meanwhile, the police also reached the spot and took up the investigation. The loss of property is yet to be ascertained.
A employee of Entamology wing of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) died after falling from the building here on road no. 2 of KPHB in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Kamalraj Mehra (50). The incident is said to have occurred when Mehra sat on the wall after a walk and accidentally fell off the building. Locals informed the police who rushed to the place and inspected the spot. They registered a case and shifted the body for autopsy. A case has been registered.
Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said that the people supported the rule of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He told the media on Wednesday that YSRCP's victory in Chandrababu's constituency was the result of public support. As many as 250 customers in Suryapet were duped by an agency to the tune of Rs 75 lakh which promised to provide furniture at low costs. The 'Golden Agency' further assured to deliver the furniture in 12 days after joining in the scheme by paying Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000. Interested people who joined in the scheme initially were delivered the furniture after 12 days. The police said that the fraudsters gained trust of the people by delivering the products initially following which numerous people joined into the scheme.Read more
