47 urban theme parks to come up in hyderabad

Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Bonthu Rammohan on Friday said that as many as 47 urban theme parks would be set up across the city with a total outlay Rs 120 crore.

Mayor conducted a review meeting along with GHMC Commissioner M Dana Kishore, zonal commissioner Srinivas Reddy, additional commissioner Krishna, chief engineer Suresh and theme park designing consultants at the GHMC head office.

"To provide more greenery to the people of the city, we are constructing more theme parks in city in future. These parks would be constructed in all the zones. They will conduct various programmes like wet and dry waste segregation, rainwater harvesting pits construction, plastic recycling, dump yard capping works etc," he said on the occasion.

GHMC Commissioner M Dana Kishore instructed the officials to produce the estimation action plan to construct these theme parks at the general body meeting of GHMC. Sewerage treatment plant pipes should be linked to these parks for water. He urged IT companies to establish some theme parks with electronic wastes in the city.

Commissioner said that they would form a committee which would include urban bio-diversity additional commissioner Krishna, LB Nagar zonal commissioner Srinivas Reddy and chief engineer Suresh to over the construction works of these 47 theme parks.
