A BJP leader urges govt to shed adamant attitude

Serilingampally: State BJP Executive Committee member Jnanendra Prasad urged the KCR government to give up its 'adamant attitude' towards the RTC employees' strike, which entered the 27th day on Thursday.

Speaking at the 24-hour mass hunger strike camp, organised near Miyapur Crossroads bus-stop to express solidarity with the striking employees, and also supporting the fast of CPI leader Sambasiva Rao, Prasad, Prasad flayed that the government was 'scared' following the success of the 'Sakala Jana Bheri' meeting of October 30 in Saroornagar.

Prasad said he was saddened by the death of Babu of Karimnagar depot following a heart attack during the meeting and the arrest of some RTC union leaders. This showed, the BJP leader alleged, the government's 'dictatorial' attitude. He reiterated that the party would back the RTC employees until their demands were conceded.

Addressing the gathering, MCPI State leader Thandra Kumar alleged that a 'dora'(KCR) was ordering the arrest of RTC employees to crush their strike. He pointed out that the government appeared to be acting like a 'dora' and not a democratic one. He, too, pledged the party's backing to the RTC employees.

Among those present at the fast camp included RTC JAC leaders Rajender, Emani Vinayak Reddy, Jithender Reddy, Bhaskar, Rajababu, Basha, Bal Reddy, Achut Reddy, Somayya, Rukmini, Vasantha, Ramadevi, Savithri, Kalpana, BJP leaders Anjaneyulu, BLF leaders Tukaram Naik, student union leader Murali.
