All India Kisan Sabha national meet in July

Baghlingampally: All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) will hold its national convention here at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram (SVK) from July 11 to 14. This was stated by state secretary of Telangana Raithu Sangham T Sagar here at a program held to release posters for the event at SVK on Friday.

Sagar said that All India Kisan Sabha was formed in 1936 and led several movements of farmers as part of freedom struggle. He expressed his happiness that the national convention would be held in Hyderabad. The meeting would discuss on farmer cooperative systems, he said.

Kerala state finance minister Thomas Izak would start the meeting and prominent persons such as noted economist Prabhath Patnaik, president of AIKS Ashok Dhavale, general secretary Ahrud Molla, Professor R Ramkumar, economists VK Ramachandran, Venkatesh Athreya, Madhura Swaminathan, Dr Hemalatha, Vijaya Raghavan, Vijju Krishnan, Krishna Prasad and others would participate in the meetings, he said. He appealed to the people to attend the meeting in large numbers.
