Arrangements in place for Bonalu: Talasani Srinivas Yadav

Secunderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Thursday said that the government was making required arrangements for the upcoming Bonalu festival at Ujjani Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad as part of festivities in the City and the State. The minister laid foundation for taking up Rs 60 lakh worth development works at General Bazar in Ramgopalpet division here.

On the occasion, the minister said that the Bonalu is a state festival and would be conducted on a grand scale. The government released Rs 15 crore for the festivities to be conducted at Old City, Golconda and Secunderabad. The Bonalu festival would be held next month and all related works of development would be completed in the areas on time, he said. So far 85 per cent of the works were completed in these areas and the rest would be completed as planned.

The people should not dump garbage into nalas as that would cause pollution problem, and, instead, use dustbins and GHMC vehicles to shift the same. "I will hold a meeting with officials to address any issues near Mahankali temple in Secunderabad," he added. (NSS)
