Awareness drive held for differently abled

Vikarabad: District Collector Masrat Khanam Aisha said that the Election Commission has made special arrangements for differently abled to exercise their franchise. She created awareness among differently-abled on casting vote at Ambedkar Bhavan here on Friday.

The Collector informed that there are 13,000 differently abled in the district and asked them to cast their vote in ensuing Lok Sabha elections. She said they set up tri-chairs and wheelchairs at all polling centres.

Masrat Khanam said that volunteer along with auto would be sent to their house to bring them to polling centres and advised them to avail the opportunity. She asked voters not to succumb to temptations and use vote wisely. Aisha instructed the voters to increase the value of democracy by casting vote. DRDA PD Johnson, ICDS officer Jyothsna, SVEEP Nodal officer Kotaji, horticulture officer Neeraja Gandhi and differently abled were present.
