Bill collector booked on graft charges
Kukatpally: GHMC bill collector K Mahendra Naik was caught red handed by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 36,000 from the complainant, Nagaraju of Raj Electronics, located at Asbestos Colony, for showing an official favour.
According to a press release issued by ACB, Naik demanded and accepted the amount to reduce the property tax of the complainant's house. The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of AO. Naik was taken into custody.
He is being produced before the special judge for SPE and ACB cases. The cases are being investigated. The release stated that ACB's toll-free number 1064 could be contacted in case of demands for bribes by any GHMC employees.
