Birth anniversaries of Azad, Tilak celebrated

Balajinagar: The birth anniversaries of freedom fighter Chandasekhar Azad (113th) and patriot Balgangadhar Tilak (163rd) were celebrated on Tuesday in the office of local corporator Pannala Kavya Reddy. She and her husband Harish Chandra Reddy, who is a former councilor, garlanded the portraits of the freedom fighters.

Speaking at the function, Harish Reddy praised Tilak for espousing the cause of Swaraj and also Azad who joined Gandhiji's non-cooperation movement against the British.

Among those present were BJP leaders, activists Satyanarayana, S K Mahboob, Haribabu, Dasari Ramesh, Koteswara Rao, M Srinu, Mohan Rao, Krishna Rao, Thota Ramesh, Yadi Reddy, Vijay, Maqdoom, Raji Reddy, Chinna, G V Rao, Saraswati, Shyamala, Revati, Sulochana and Nagalakshmi.
