CITU activists lay siege to labour department office
Patancheru: Activists of CITU on Tuesday laid a siege to the labour department office to protest against 'robbing' of workers by the ruling party leadership, which was siding with the capitalists denying minimum wages and bonus to workers. District unit vice-president Narsimha Reddy led the 'Chalo Labour Department' rally.
Addressing the participants from Patanchru, who took part in large numbers, Reddy alleged that the State government had failed to implement even one GO to benefit workers after the formation of Telangana. He accused the State of backing capitalists and failing to enforce minimum wages and labour laws, despite several representations of the officials concerned. Reddy said there was no alternative but to launch struggles.
The CITU leader warned that if the government failed to concede their demands, a strike may become inevitable. Among the CITU leaders present were Pandu Ranga Reddy, Sudhakar, Raju, Ram Reddy, Srinivas, Lingam, Bikshapathi and Narsimlu.
