Cordon and search in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar

Kukatpally: A cordon search was conducted by the police at Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, which falls within the limits of Kukatpally Police Station of Cyberabad Commissionerate on Saturday night.

DCP Venkateshwar Rao, Additional DSP Venkateshwarulu, Kukatpally ACP Surender Rao, Circle Inspector of Police Janaiah, eight inspectors of the zone, 145 police staff and 11 women constables participated in the cordon search.

As part of the search, police searched 485 houses in the colony using PS Tabs designed by C DOT Technology and arrested 16 wanted criminals. During the search, police also seized 22 two-wheel vehicles and eight autos without proper documentation using Third Eye technology.

Later, speaking to the media, Venkateshwarulu said the cordon search was conducted to instill confidence among the locals. He thanked local residents for cooperating with the police during the search. He said that locals supported such police initiatives to prevent crime and police would continue to conduct random searches in various colonies.
