Corporator inspects sewage overflow
Baghlingampally: Sewerage water has been overflowing on the road behind Ambedkar College for the last four days. On receiving complaints from the local residents, the Ramnagar Corporator visited the spot and instructed the GHMC officials to investigate on how sewerage water is overflowing from the storm water line.
GHMC AE Papamma, work inspector Govind Rao and HMWS manager examined the lines and concluded that the sewerage water entered the storm drains from a nearby hotel and water overflowed as the line was choked with kitchen waste.
Speaking on the occasion, the corporator said he had instructed the officials to enquire if the nearby hotel has connected sewerage line with storm drain. The officials were ordered to issue notices to the hotel owner in case of illegal sewerage connection and to take severe action to prevent such incidents in the future.
